I'm Hiking The Appalachian Trail!

Starting in March, I’ll be heading out to attempt a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. That’s 2,197 miles from Georgia to Maine—if everything goes to plan. This is a trail that has tested hikers for over 100 years, offering breathtaking views, grueling climbs, and everything in between. It’s as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one, and I’m eager to see how far I can go.

This has been a lifelong goal of mine, and now it’s time to go for it. Of course, this year’s hike will come with some added challenges. Last fall, Hurricane Helene tore through parts of North Carolina and southern Virginia, leaving sections of the trail damaged or destroyed. Thanks to the tireless efforts of trail crews and volunteers, much of the damage has been addressed, but there will still be spots where the scars of the storm remain. It’s just one more layer of unpredictability to embrace on this journey.

Along the way, I’ll be documenting the experience online with updates, reflections, and a look at what is or isn’t working. From the gear on my back to the ups and downs of life on the trail, I want to share the realities of attempting something this ambitious. Whether you’re interested in hiking, curious about the trail, or just want to see if I can make it, I’d love to have you along for the ride.
